Het Antwerps Collegium Musicum (A.C.M.) is in 2000 opgericht en groepeert instrumentalisten en zangers die geïnteresseerd en gespecialiseerd zijn in de beoefening van oude(re) muziek, m.n uit de periode van de Renaissance en Barok. Niet een puristische opvatting omtrent een authentieke uitvoering is hun uitgangspunt, maar het verlangen om samen ‘goede’ muziek te maken en uit te voeren, liefst in een zo optimaal mogelijke context. De figuur van Willem Ceuleers (veelzijdig muzikant) speelt in deze groep een belangrijke rol. Hij zet de muzikale koers uit en bewaakt de kwaliteit. Het Antwerps Collegium Musicum is gespecialiseerd in “concerten+”, concerten waar de muziek geplaatst en geduid wordt. Voor religieuze muziek betekent dit dat men streeft naar meditatieve concerten, waar iets van de oorspronkelijke bedoeling en/of liturgische setting van de muziek tot z’n recht kan komen.Opnieuw is het niet de bedoeling om letterlijke historische reconstructies te maken. Dat is onmogelijk en voer voor religieuze archeologen. Als iets van de ‘geest’ van de oorspronkelijke muziek kan worden ‘gered’ door ze in het heden op te roepen, is de doelstelling al meer dan bereikt. Voor de invulling van deze concerten staan Willem Ceuleers en Dick Wursten gezamenlijk in.

Cet ensemble a été fondé en 2000 et réunit des instrumentistes et chanteurs intéressés et spécialisés dans la musique ancienne, plus précisément des époques de la Renaissance et du Baroque. Le point de départ n'est pas une philosophie puriste de la pratique dite "authentique", mais le désir jouer de la "bonne" musique ensemble, et dans un contexte optimal. Willem Ceuleers, un musicien polyvalent, joue un rôle proéminent dans cet ensemble. Il trace la ligne artistique et sauvegarde la qualité.
Le A.C.M. se spécialise dans des concerts avec une valeur ajoutée, des "concerts+", où la musique est présentée dans un contexte. Ainsi la musique religieuse est interprétée dans des concerts méditatifs, où l'optique originelle de sa création ressortit mieux. Le but n'est pas une reproduction exacte du contexte historique; ambition impossible et objet d'étude des archéologues religieux. Il s'agit plutôt de suggérer et de faire revivre aujourd'hui l'esprit originel de la musique. Les concerts méditatifs sont conçus par Willem Ceuleers et Dick Wursten.

Antwerp Collegium Musicum (A.C.M.)
This group was founded in 2000 and brings together instrumentalists and singers interested and specialized in early music,  specifically Renaissance and Baroque. The starting point is not a purist philosophy striving towards so-called "authentic" performances, but the desire to play "good" music together, and this in an optimal context. Willem Ceuleers, a versatile musician, plays a prominent role in this set. The A.C.M. specializes in concerts with an added value, "concert+", where music is presented in an appropriate context. Therefore, religious music is often interpreted in more "meditative concerts", where something of the original intention of the music can be experienced. The goal is not an exact reproduction of the historical context. We are no archaeologists of religious music. It is rather to suggest and to revive the original spirit of the music today. The programs are conceived by Willem Ceuleers and Dick Wursten.
