This poem is a welcoming song for the third child of Renée de France, written before the child is born (Avant-naissance). We know two versions of this poem. The main differences are - as expected - related to religious precarious topics. The harangue against the pope from the original will have pleased the addressee, the pregnant mother, Renée de France, known for het evangelical sympathies; The second version though can be found in the Manuscript offered in 1538 to the Constable of France, Anne de Montmorency, conservative in matters of religion. For convenience I copy the poem twice, marking the two intrinsic changes using the colour blue.
Redundant piece of information : In 1941 the French composer Jean Françaix (1912-1997) included a musical setting for piano and voice of this poem in his L'Adolescence Clémentine (5 poèmes de Clément Marot; even pettier remark: this poem is no part of the original Adolescence Clémentine)
