Text not by Marot, but very popular because integrated in several 'Abecedariums'. There it is part of the 'instruction of the child' to learn to say this prayer, preceding the Lord's prayer. The first I know of is franois Landry, introduction des Enfants (several oraisons destin�es � �tre r�cit�es par les enfants, du matin au soir). This priest ran an orphanage in Paris and was supported (and protected) by Marguerite de Navarre. Learning them to read, by learning them to pray. Also published in Antwerp by Merten De Keyser (Martin Lempereur), De Gois and Plantin.
