About me
When publishing articles in International Journals or in books, the result of one's research is 'published' but not necessarily made 'publicly available'. No library in the world has a subscription to all scientific and scholarly Journals and books, let alone the library around your corner. And that's a pity. Who am I? I am an independent scholar, curious by nature and active on the interface between theology, history and culture. Poetry and music: that is what I really like, and early sixteenth-century France: that is where my explorations usually start from. My name is Dick Wursten and I live and work in and around Antwerp in Belgium. My personal website: www.dick.wursten.be [in Dutch].
This website is mainly about the French Renaissance poet Clément Marot (1496-1544). He was the 'subject' of my doctoral thesis (dissertation) at the VU University Amsterdam, in which I tried to understand more about his religious commitment and in particular his temporary cooperation with John Calvin (Psalms).

An abstract, a summary and the introduction of my doctoral thesis can be read here.

As a book it is published in Brill's Series in Church History - Volume 44 (june 2010).

Some of my scholarly articles can be accessed from here.

Some of Marot's poems, which I consider to be key-texts for understanding his layered personality (versatile, volatile) I publish here, adding some comments.
